Scrumptious cakes and homemade breads, chocolate treats and sizzling curries, Woking Food and Drink Festival was the ultimate paradise for foodies.
The three-day event, from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 September 2013, saw thousands of visitors flock to Woking Town Centre to enjoy a culinary ‘festival’ – with over 40 stalls, selling delicious local produce and food from around the world.
A line-up of celebrity chefs, including Masterchef winner Natalie Coleman and Great British Bake-off 2011 winner Jo Wheatley, revealed their tricks of the trade, whilst festival partner Woking Shopping let little chefs get hands-on with free children’s cookery classes and entertainment. One of the highlights of the festival, Woking’s very own Bake-off generated entries from all over the region –with Jo Wheatley picking a coffee and meringue sponge cake as the winner (with a little ‘tasting’ help from Team Carousel).
