707 Day
July started with a bang with L.O.L. Day. We sent out themed mailers to 10 dedicated L.O.L. micro-influencer mega fans, including Esme & Edie, Rana 04 Lena and Coco Amore, to generate content ahead of 707 day. We also secured partnerships with celebrities to maximise visibility, including Ferne McCann, Imogen Thomas, San for Short, Rachel Adedeji and Inspiring Vanessa. All of our influencer partners were challenged to finish off a sign with a word or phrase to describe what L.O.L. Surprise! means to them, with examples ranging from ‘we are inclusive’ and ‘we are ambitious’ to ‘we are fearless.’
Our content team worked their magic and edited the footage to create a dynamic, fast-paced reel to highlight exactly what L.O.L Surprise! stands for, delivering over 240k video views in the process.
Fall Fashion
We planned and managed an AW22 press preview for Cotton Traders, at Somerset House in London.
The event was hosted by brand ambassador Lisa Snowdon, showcasing the top new pieces in the collection for the upcoming season. It was attended by 15 top-tier journalists, stylists and influencers, including Stylist Magazine, Woman & Home, Good Morning Britain and Best magazine.
A Celebration of Manchester
We launched Kimpton Clocktower Hotel’s latest exhibition with the British Culture Archive ‘Together As One – A celebration of Manchester’s LGBTQIA+’.
The exhibit showcased photography taken by Jon Shard and Peter J Walsh, capturing two iconic moments in Manchester’s vibrant history. Peter J Walsh documented the anti-Clause 28 protest, which was held in Manchester and saw over 20,000 people take to the streets to protest Clause 28. Walsh, who is more well known for documenting the city’s nightlife during the ‘Madchester’ years is one of the few who documented this important protest that would help change the face of LGBTQIA+ rights in the UK.
The team secured multiple hits, including The Manc, Manchester Confidentials, BBC News, Timeout and Manchester's Finest.
Bluedot is Back!
We were finally back at Bluedot following a two-year hiatus. There were some incredible headline performances from Groove Armada, Mogwai, Metronomy and Björk with the Halle Orchestra.
The team ran the on-site press office, welcoming over 200 press and achieving national and regional coverage including a 4-star review from The Guardian, a BBC Breakfast interview with Astronaut Tim Peake and interviews with artists and scientists broadcast on BBC 5 Live from the festival.
We also secured post-festival coverage in the likes of The Telegraph, BBC News, Electric Sound, The Times, Granada Reports, Manchester Evening News and many more.
Q2 Celebrations
To celebrate the end of Q2, Sharn was crowned Star of the Season, Chloe was awarded Coverage Star and the Digital Award went to Hope. We celebrated with a full team social at a local comedy club.
We have an exciting August to look forward to with festivals, launches and more.
