Carousel PR recently headed to London’s stunning Soho Hotel for the UK launch of PMD’s The Kiss in association with CURRENTBODY.com. Exclusively for press guests and beauty bloggers, the evening provided the perfect blend of delicious cocktails, delectable canapés and fantastic beauty treatments – plus a chance to see the first ever non-invasive lip-plumping device.
The Kiss uses patent pending Pulsating Vacuum Technology to safely plump the look of lips in just three minutes, with results lasting for several hours. Working with PMD’s new Smart Lip Plumping Serum, the PMD Kiss produces dramatic results including: increased lip volume, boosted collagen production, enhanced natural lip colour and reduced lip wrinkles.
The penthouse suite of the Soho Hotel was the perfect location for our drop-in event and attracted a host of top tier beauty journalists who came to hear all about the device and the science behind it. Titles included The Daily Mail, Cosmopolitan, Press Association, Woman & Home, Prima, London Evening Standard, Get the Gloss, In Style and Metro. Not to mention Will Smith even popped by (well, technically he didn’t but he was in the same hotel so that counts right?)
Whilst enjoying a choice of specially created cocktails and a view across the London skyline, CURRENTBODY’s brand manager Emily Buckwell gave journalists an insight into the product and its technology, whilst the Carousel team were on hand to answer any questions.
“The Kiss, which launched in the US in April 2017, was an instant success – becoming the top selling device in retail Nordstrom in its first week,” said Emily Buckwell.
“We’re so excited about it because it represents an entirely new sector in the at-home beauty device market.”
The event was a huge success and the brand has already had some excellent feedback about the device. Each journalist got to take home their very own ‘Kiss’ to trial and we cannot wait to hear the results.
Emily Buckwell, Brand Manager of CurrentBody.com said: ““The Kiss from PMD launched last week in the UK exclusively with Currentbody.com and the response has been fantastic. We’re so excited about it because it represents an entirely new sector in the at-home beauty device market – the first since Clarisonic launched their phenomenally successful cleansing brush back in 2009. No one else is making anything like this.
‘The Kiss launched in the US in April (2017) and was an instant success – becoming the top selling device in US retail chain Nordstrom in its first week and gaining a huge cult following amongst beauty bloggers, YouTubers and writers (the product video has been watched 5million times). We’ve already seen a great level of demand in the UK – much higher than any other product has had in its first week – and the response from those that have trialled it has been extremely positive.
‘The at-home beauty device market has been rising dramatically over the last few years (by 2020, it is expected to outpace spas) as people look for safe, convenient ways to look and feel better – but without a hefty price tag or invasive surgery and recovery time. The Kiss is a great example of this – it’s a completely safe and fun way to get a proven visible result but without the concerns or commitment involved with fillers or injections.”
